After the fall of the Almohade Empire, Seville remains between the hands of the Axafat Governor, considered the last Moslem leader of Seville. He resisted for some time the siege by Fernando III, king of Castille. Once the town was conquered, Fernando III grants Axafat the towns of Aznalfarache and Sanlúcar la Mayor. Later, when Christians conquered the town, he also granted him the town of Niebla.
